Zakynthos, commonly known as Zante, is a Greek island in the midst of the Southern Ionian Sea. Zante belongs to the Ionian Island group which has led to a heavy Italian influence on it’s history and culture.

Besides the Navagio (Shipwreck) Beach there are many sights to see in Zante, each one with a distinctive beauty. It is a lively island with a hospitable people which will leave any visitor speechless. Take a drive to the cliff face above the beach for an incredible view and photo opportunity and also catch a boat to the beach itself and take a dip in the crystal clear waters.

There are plenty of things to do and explore in Zante. Boasting 123 km of coastline, no one should miss the chance to visit as many beaches and landmarks as possible. The beaches are extraordinary with surprising turquoise colours and crystal-clear refreshing waters. Another Zante staple is the endangered Caretta Caretta sea turtles. These amazing creatures lay their eggs on the beaches during spring and summer and you might get lucky enough to see them getting out of the sea to lay their eggs but be sure not to disturb them!

As for attractions, Zante owns several museums, historic castles, imposing temples and more gems, hidden or not, that stimulate visitors. The reality is you will never run out of options in Zante, there is something for everyone, you can experience various activities, such as exciting water sports, scuba diving, horse-riding and of course partying! Flights to Zante

Zakynthos International Airport “Dionysos Solomos” receives year round domestic flights from Athens and many direct charter flights from all around Europe throughout the summer season. The flight time from Athens to Zante is around 45 minutes.

Alykanas Beach

Ferries to Zante

A ferry service operates between Zante and Killini throughout the year.
Killini is located west of Peloponnese and the trip takes one hour.
During the summer season a ferry between Zante and Kefalonia island also operates.

Public Buses

The Island bus service “KTEL” covers routes to most destinations around Zante, especially to the high tourist areas.
Bus stops are located all over the island and the main bus depot is in Zante Town.
